E.E HINKLE GETS CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH
Doc Paul couln't find anything wrong with E.E. Hinkle during his last appointment. No diabetes,no hardening of the arteries, nothing. In fact, he told him not to come back to see him at all unless he starts feeling rotten again. All that not withstanding, Doc Paul still wanted him to go to the nursing home.Doc Paul is a stock holder in the nursing home.Is that the reason, figure it out yourself.
The old boy was hungry after getting out of the clinic. So hungry in fact that he ate 3 Old Home donuts. He is getting stronger too and able to do things for himself. He went to bed early and had a good night.
KEN AND JOYCE FERRIS GET SET TO GO SOUTH
Joyce went home yesterday and is getting ready to keep a doctors appiontment in Mexico. She and Ken plan to leave on Thursday. All of us at The Holabird Advocate are hoping for a good report for both her and her father.
KELVIN KENNEDY GOES NORTH

CHRISTMAS IN JANUARY?
The Pioneer Garage's christmas party may have been unconventional. They had it in Rapid City. When the gang at the Pioneer Garage party down they don't mess around.Kristi Hinkle, who babysat with Ayden Aasby for Dave and Beth, said that having 3 babies in the house at the same time really made her a believer in birth control.

E.E. HINKLE HAS SETBACK BUT RALLIES
Over the weekend E.E. Hinkle has had his good moments and bad moments.Satuerday afternoon he was able to go out to the shop to see all of Darrel's latest mechanical projects and getting about quite well. That night he started failing. He was doing something not like him at all.Mary, his favorite daughter-in- law, was staying with him and his daughter Joyce. He needed help to get out of bed and when she tried to help him he yelled at her like he never yelled at anyone before. Those of you who know E.E. know that if anyone mistreated Mary like that he wouldn't have stood for it.Sunday he acted like nothing ever happenned. Some have speculated that this may be becuase of diabetes or hardening of the arteries.Kristi Hinkle, who is an EMT, tested his blood sugar and found out that while it is higher than normal it is most likely caused by stress.Tomorrow he will be taken to Doc Paul and more conclusive measures will be taken.
THE TRUTH ABOUT THE PRESIDENTIAL CHOKING
by Jerry Hinkle Special to The Holabird Advocate
After our quick but effective investigation we at the Holabird Advocate have come up with 3 possible conclusions :
1.Everything happenned just like W said(of course, he is a politician,so he may have lied)
2.This was a diversion to get the media the media off Enron(if so,it didn't work)
3.W's wife Laura went "Hillary" on him and did a little "oops" upside his head(all you husbands out there know what i mean)
BUSH AND ENRON:WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL
by Jerry Hinkle Special to The Holabird Advocate
A lot has been made of the $500,000 that Enron gave to the BUSH 2000 campaign. They wonder "What did Eron get for this money".Last night on "60 Minutes" Andy Rooney was touching on just this subject, almost ranting. All of us at The Holabird Advocate wonder where Mr. Rooney's indignation was when Bill Clinton recieved $27,000,000 from Chinese "businessman" Charlie Trie.Because I am the courageous dynamic Publisher I have come up with a solution to the whole Enron stink.W simply gives the half million to the 401 K plan of all of the Enron employees.Maybe it will start a trend.

VOL. I Issue 1M
E.E. HINKLE CONTINUES TO IMPROVE
Despite a few setbacks along the way,E.E. Hinkle has been out and about on the Ponderosa. He has so far this week walked to Harold and Mary's house for dinner twice. His daughter Joyce is hoping he will take a walk sometime in the afternoon if the weather stays nice after nap time.It could reach 49 degrees in the Holabird area today.A cold front is coming through though, and in a few short days we'll have -5.
BREAK-IN AT MIDWEST RECYCLING
While Joyce was at the Ponderosa looking in on her father,a window was broken and the door force open on Joyce's business Midwest Recycling. The sheriff was dispatched and the matter is being looked into.So far nothing of value was discovered missing.
FIRST STATE BANK SHOCKER
Many of the residents of Hyde County were shocked when Skyla Ratzlaff and the First State Bank parted company. She had been working there since high school.Neither she nor the bank had a comment for The Holabird Advocate at press time .It is the hope of all of us at The Holabird Advocate that whatever Skyla does in the future,we wish her well. She will be missed.
WEDDING FEVER
John Hoffman has recently taken Rachel Sundstrom for his bride.Wedding dates have been set for Kevin Hansen's union to Jamie Daken and Lynnel Rogers' union to Sam Wurtz.Jerry Hinkle, courageous and dynamic publisher of The Holabird Advocate, wonders if he'll make it to even one of these celebrations. One wedding he was not invited to,his distant cousin Laurie Arshiem's is one that he'd like to attend. If for no other reason than to warn the poor sucker she's engaged to what a trial he's in for.At any rate the Rogers-Wurtz wedding is on February 23rd.The Daken-Hansen wedding is September 21st,the same date as the Arshiem-Poorsucker wedding. That might not be his last name, but it will be if he goes through with the wedding. Our Publisher has always said he'd go to any wedding as long as he wasn't the groom.Something sure has changed for one reason or another.
AASBYS GO TO CHRISTMAS PARTY
Kristi Hinkle is babysiting for David and Beth Aasby today while they go to the Pioneer Garage Christmas party. It's not like the gang at Pioneer Garage to miss a party, but they forgot to have one last month.Better late than never.

VOL. I Issue 1L
DOC PAUL TO E.E.:"KEEP IT UP AND SEE ME IN A WEEK"
Despite the constant nagging of all his relatives,E.E. Hinkle has shown a great deal of improvement as of late.Tuesday afternoon Doc Paul was called with all the latest devolopments concerning his care and progress.Afterwards he said to have the ancient one see him at the clinic next tuesday.Doc must have a car payment due or something like that. One bright spot is that E.E. went out to get the mail with his son,Harold.
HOW MANY POINTS FOR A SLIM-FAST SHAKE,MARY?
On top of the Slim-Fast plan that Mary Hinkle has been dieting with, she has been using a Weight Watchers book and counting points. It's not known how much weight she has lost, but her idea of starting a Weight Watchers group in Holabird has caught on in a big way.Mary has also been seen walking outside with a Ricard Simmons tape in her walkman.Better pace yourself Mary.
BLACKOUT AT THE PONDEROSA
At around 4pm tuesday afternoon the power went off at 3 area ranches the Bar JZ ,the BAR Z Bar,and the Ponderosa. After Our Publisher,Jerry Hinkle surveyed the community and called it in to Dakota Energy. He then grabed his trusty 1,000,000 candle power spotlight to wait for the darkness. Two hours later the lights came on and life came back to as close to normal as it could.
TRIP TIME
Agnes Hahn is readying to go to Sioux Falls with her daughter,Bonnie Nickleson,to meet another daughter Joan Hansen, and take a trip to her home in Forrest City Iowa.Yet another one of Agnes's daughters,Phyllis,is going to Cancun,Mexico this weekend. The house will be safe from intruders thanks to Jake the Wonder Dog.Even the hardest of criminals cut him a wide berth.Agnes,of course is the mother of Mary Hinkle who needs no introduction.

VOL I. Issue 1K
MARTIAL LAW DECLARED AT E.E. HINKLE'S HOUSE
They say "A man's home is his castle",but you wouldn't know it to visit E.E. Hinkle these days.Between his son,Harold, daughther Joyce and favorite daughter-in-law Mary he's had little say in his post hospital care.Being jostled around that way at his age may not be fun,but it's more fun than a nursing home, which is where Doc Paul wanted him.Old E.E. has been taking it all in stride like the gentleman he is though we should all be as excepting of change as that.Inside sources say that he's gained 10 lbs.(mostly water) since getting out of the hospital. His liquid intake is not as neccesary as it once was.All of us at The Holabird Advocate predict that if at all possible he'll be back to his regular big breakfast in a matter of a week or so.
THE PARTY COMES TO THE PONDEROSA
Jamie Pothast's birthday moved away from the pool on sunday afternoon and to the Ponderosa.Several 4 generation pictures as well as assorted family pictures were taken.Joyce made a choco-banana cake.Mary made fudge brownies, grilled cheese sandwiches, and chili.Tim and Kathy Zilverberg came to see Darrel on business and stayed to look at Darrel's 2 month old son Justin and Doug's 2 week old son Cade.
HINKLES EXPERMINT WITH DIETING
Both Harold and Mary Hinkle started seperate diets yesterday.Harold is doing the high protein-low carb. diet, eating sausage and eggs etc.Mary is drinking Slim-Fast and walking for 30-60 minutes per day. It's not known how long this will last, but all of us at The Holabird Advocate wish them both the best and send our most positive thoughts to them .We'll all be watchin to see what develops

VOL. I Issue 1J
E.E. HINKLE BACK HOME:NOW THE FUN STARTS
The hospital released E.E. Hinkle after dinner time.Joyce, his youngest daughter, brought him back home.Doc Paul gave out certain orders that were very specific. He's not to do anything without assistance,he needs to have 6 glases of water, and also have fruit juice at regular intervals. As most of you who know E.E. can guess he didn't take to the first part too hot.If he is to get better, however, this is the way it is to be.Joyce has endeavored to take charge.Only time will tell how successful she will be in doing that.Shortly after arriving they called E.E.'s brother Don in California to keep him up to date on his condition and to see how he and his wife LaRayne are getting on since she broke her arm and leg in a fall some time ago.Everyone out there seems to be doing fine. Joyce tries to keep him awake as much as possible so he'll sleep through the night.
SOCIETY
Harold and Mary went to the Jamie Pothast pool party and are expected back early tonight.Darrel and Kristi Hinkle are expected to be at the Pothast affair sometime today.Jerry Hinkle,Publisher of The Holabird Advocate, stayed at the Ponderosa in an effort to make his grandfathers homecoming a little smoother(lotza luck,Bubba).

VOL. I Issue 1I
E.E. HINKLE DOING BETTER
Joyce Ferris,E.E. Hinkle's youngest daughter reports that her 99 years young father is doing much better than yesterday. He seems to be more alert. The nurses tried to give him a bed bath, but old E.E. wouldn't have it.He said "I can take a shower".There's no word on if he actually did take a shower. So far everything he has eaten or drank has stayed into his system until bathroom break time.More details will come when they are available.
HINKLES KEEP THE HOME FIRES BURNING
After waking up to -8 the Hinkle family went about doing the daily chores.Mary is doing so much laundry that she even has the washing machine at her father-in-law's house going, and both dryers as well.Harold and Jerry fed cows at both the main ranch and Darrel's place too.Brit even talked Harold and Jerry into helping her get her Easy Bake Oven assembled. That 4 year old girl is a cake and cookie baker deluxe right now.The darn thing is not even recommeded for anyone under 8 years of age.Of course Hasbro doesn't know Brit very well. She could be the next Betty Crocker.Funny thing is,Mary had to clean up the mess when she was done.

EXTRA ! EXTRA ! READ ALL ABOUT IT !
E.E. Hinkle ate jello and kept it down tonight. It was hospital jello and that in itself was quite a task indeed.

E.E. HINKLE PARTIES TOO HEARTY,ENDS UP IN HOSPITAL
Harold and Mary Hinkle took E.E. Hinkle to Highmore on Wednesday morning to "do their tradin' " as he calls it and to have dinner at the Senior Center. After he got home he proceeded to throw up his dinner,a fact he did not divulge until later that evening to his granddaughter,Sandy Soulek.Nothing more was thought of it until the next morning when Harold checked on him and discovered that he'd also thrown up that morning's breakfast. An appointment was made to see his doctor,Doc. Paul in Huron at 3:45.It came to pass that he has a case of the flu so severe that he had dehydrated, and so he was admitted to the hospital. He is expected to be there for a day or 2.His daughter,Joyce had put off her plans to go to Mexico and Arizona to look after him so now she has her chance to do so,for a while anyway.Harold and Mary were planing to go to Arizona on Monday next, but that has not been made final as of yet.
MAYBE SHE CAN DRIVE A CAR
Jamie Pothast turned 14 on the 14th of January. She spent her birthday changing her little brother Cade's diapers. She is going to be the guest of honor at a weekend pool party on the 19th-20th of January, invitation only. When she was asked what she would like to have for her birthday Jamie replied "A Dodge Viper-um-or maybe just a pool party".She's flexable that way. When asked Who her favorite uncle she said "Jerry ".The very same uncle who promised her a Viper for her 16th birthday.
WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH THE TOUGH GO SLEDDING
Missing the Pothast pool party will be Darrel and Kristi Hinkle,as they are going snowmobiling in the Black Hills this weekend.Kristi's brother's Jeremy and Patrick Van Tassel will be joining them.On babysiting duty are Harold,Mary, and Jerry"I don't do diapers"Hinkle.Anyone who does do diapers might find a job on the Ponderosa this weekend.

FEVER HITS THE HINKLE FAMILY
Brittany Hinkle missed sunday school because of a 102 degree fever.Leter that afternoon it was 103.After a trip to the emergency room and a trip back she was improving just slightly.Today Brit came over to see her grandpa at his house, but still has a rumble in her stomach.
E.E.HINKLE TRIBUTES STILL COMING IN
Several People are mailing,e-mailing, and calling on the telephone with stories of E.E.Hinkle,who will turn 100 years old in July of this year. There has been been such a demand for celebration that an open house has been planned for the 20th of July in Highmore and a private "family only"get-together on the 22nd,which is the actual day of his birth. There has been talk of making all the festivities a surprise for the old gent.So far all has been out in the open, with nobody sure if he is listenning to what is discussed.Harold and Mary Hinkle will be leaving on the 23rd of July for a Missionary trip to Austrailia so their bedroom could be rented out.The population in Holabird is expected to rise considerably.
MARTIN LUTHER KING'S BIRTHDAY
by Jerry Hinkle, Special to The Holabird Advocate
Today is Martin Luther King'sbirthday. The Government won't be celebrating him until next monday. My cousin Kelvin also has a birthday today, which few outside my family, let alone the Government, will recognize,I'm sure. Kelvin has little in common with Dr.King.In fact where King had a dream,Kelvin wasn't allowed to dream very much when he was growing up.My dad would always have to make him get out of bed to work around The Ponderosa in the morning time.He had told Kelvin once that someday he'd meet a cute little gal,get married and have a 3 of kids and he'd have to get up out of bed and go to work.Kelvin's reply to that was "I'll worry about that when the time comes",or words to that effect. When the time came he did indeed find a cute little gal.He did get married and he had 4 kids when it was all said and done.He must have got up and gone to work as I've never heard of him getting fired or anything. As far as i know he's done right by his family. That's about all you can ask of a Man in this day and age.My dad tried the same thing with me but it didn't work. Perhaps it's because I never got married, had kids and HAD to get up in the morning. If I ever do,I hope to rise to the occasion just 10% as good as Kelvin did.
NATIONAL MEDIA MESSES UP :THE HOLABIRD ADVOCATE DIGGS DEEPER
by Jerry Hinkle Special to The Holabird Advocate
The Whole "President W chokes on a pretzel"story really has the media hopping. All of us at The Holabird Advocate believe there is more to the story.Does the White House expect us to believe that W really was alone watching football.Bill Clinton was never alone in the White House.Even when he was with Monica,he had a Secret Service agent or 2 along with him .And let's get one thing straight right now ;women faint, men pass out. That sure is a nasty bruise W has too. There's more to the story and The Holabird Advocate will find it.

SPECIAL FEATURE:THE LEGEND OF THE PONDEROSA
by Jerry Hinkle Special to The Holabird Advocate
Many may have wondered how I came upon the name "Ponderosa" for my home.If you think it has something to do with the TV show "Bonanza"you'd be on the right track, but not quite there. Many years ago my family and I went on a trip to Devils Tower.Somebody,I'm not sure who, poached a few pine cones. They had been in the pick-up for a while before my dad happenned upon them.He decided to plant the seeds from them and of that group only 1 tree sprouted. It was slow growing tree at that. When it finally took it's shape the bulls got out one night and rubbed all but about 3-4 branches off of this poor sapling. An uncle of mine suggested that he just put the tree out of it's misery. On this very rare occasion that i agrreed with him my dad said"Not on your life.If that tree can take all that much abuse and still stand,it can take anything".As the years went by,the pine tree grew.Right now it is the tallest tree in our front yard.A few years ago a visiting salesman said to me"That's a Ponderosa Pine.I didn't know they grew in this area".I relayed the story to him and anyone else who would listen since then about the "little pine tree".That Ponderosa Pine can teach us all a lesson. In order to survive in this country you have to be tough, you have to endure hardship. That's why I call this place,my home, the Ponderosa.Winters are hard,as are the summers.Tough times never last long, but if we are as tough as that tree we will last.It sounds corny I know, but my Grandad is 99 years old and he prefers the winters here to Arizona and California. He's a tough old boy.He doesn't give up easy.We should all do as well.Which brings me to the next feature story
EMORY HINKLE ON DEATH'S DOOR,DON'T BET ON IT
by Jerry Hinkle Special to The Holabird Advocate
Last spring we had a visit from the seed corn salesman,Jake Vilhauer. He was delivering our seed corn for the upcoming planting season, nothing special about that.Nothing special except that I was suppose to be waiting for him and instead I was watching television.By the time I noticed he was here and got my socks and shoes on(he was company after all)Grandad was already out there talking to him.Well,I showed Jake where we were putting the corn this year and as I unloaded the seed bags he asked"How old is your Grandpa" I said without a thought "Turning 99 in July".Jake grinned and said "Now,isn't that something".I then told him that I was starting a betting pool that he'd make it to 100.and that the maximum bet is $100.He replied to me"I doubt anyone would take that bet.How could you bet against anybody that can still get around as much as he does. With his sharp mind and all,he's gonna make it.Old boys like him built this country into what it is today".Jake was right and to this day he still is.Nobody, even with the current setbacks that he's had can even consider that he won't hit the century mark.I'm still taking bets for anyone foolish enough to bet against him. It's needless to tell you that nobody's making them. The odds are just too great.

ROUND-UP AT THE PONDEROSA by Jerry Hinkle
Special to The Holabird Advocate
The Ponderosa calves were taken to market on sale day.A year's worth of work all comes down to this.Round-up is such a colorful time on the Ponderosa, especially the language used by some of the wranglers. Not taking a back seat this year was Mary Hinkle. She could teach the San Diego sailors a few choice phrases, but then all of the Hinkles would make the fleet blush now and then.
SNOW QUEEN CONTEST ON THE 12TH
Kristen Grafing will be repesenting Holabird(even though she's "Miss Highmore) in the Snow Queen pagent in Aberdeen on Saturday the 12th.All of us at
The Holabird Advocate wish her well.If she doesn't win, then somebody else will represent South Dakota at Saint Paul's Winter Carnival.
A MODEST PROPOSAL.
All of us at The Holabird Advocate always get a good laugh at the whole "Survivor" thing. We have come up with a real "Survivor" story for them and we hope all the readers get behind it.First we'd like the series filmed in a South Dakota winter on 40 acres of the countryside.16 average Americans would be taking care of a herd of 100 cows (50 cows per "tribe") with a only an old sod house for shelter. As far as rewards and immunity I'll come up with that later. The soul survivor gets to keep the land and the cows, which is worth about $1,000,000 after taxes anyhow. One drawback:no thong footage.that alone could kill this idea for CBS.That not withstanding, a lot of people do it everyday(without a sod house).Whataya think readers?
MAYOR OF HIGHMORE ASKED TO HONOR HOLABIRD MAN
Mike Newton,The duly appointed Mayor of Highmore as been approached to make July 20th or 22rd "Emory Hinkle Day",in honor of E.E. Hinkle's 100th birthday.Since Holabird has no mayor,it looks like chances are good for such a holiday in Highmore. If South Dakota's Govenor and the President can be talked into it that would make it an even bigger day.Is it possible for 3 Republicans to Honor this Democrat on reaching the century mark with his very own Holiday? Can the politicians put party loyalty aside? We at The Holabird Advocate will find out.

THE HOLABIRD ADVOCATE BEATS ODDS:LASTS A WEEK
Some thought that it was just a lark, this "blogging thing".We at The Holabird Advocate quite pleased with what we've done in the past 7 days.We have heard very little negative feedback. In fact it's all been positive.Of course,we learn as we go.You the reader may notice some subtle changes as the time progresses. We hope you approve of them.
BOY MEETS WORLD:NEW GRANDSON FOR HAROLD AND MARY HINKLE
At about 11:30pm Cade Alan Hinkle greeted and was greeted by a roomful of doctors and nurses. The boy child was a half hour shy of being born on Elvismas. Some report that the child's mother,Noel Pothast, was pushing quite hard to prevent that as that date is when she was scheduled to be induced into labor.Cade's father,Doug Hinkle had just put MS.Pothast's other kids 3 girls to bed.among visitors before the lad turned 1 day old were his Hinkle grandparents, both uncles, his only Hinkle aunt all 3 known cousins and all three known sisters. His 99 year old great-grandfather E.E.Hinkle was unable to make the trip because Harold was just in too big of a hurry to wait until the elder Hinkle could finish his customary breakfast of bacon, eggs, oatmeal(with half and half)and a glass of orange soda(cheaper than OJ so he claims).Mother and baby are doing well.he also would give his son,The Holabird Advocate's publisher,Jerry Hinkle, time to shave. He was heard to exclaim "I hope we don't run into anyone that knows us".to make a long story short, they did, everywhere they went.
PIERRE CELEBRATES ELVISMAS
Several people in the Pierre area saw Elvis today. All true fans of "The King" know that he was born on January 8,1935 to Vern and Gladys Presley in Tupelo,MS.it was a warm day in Pierre as the temp. got up to 65 degrees at one point in the day.it was a dry and dusty day as the first Elvismas must have been. All of us at The Holabird Advocate hope you had a very happy Elvismas.

Jerry"I don't do diapers"Hinkle ,publisher of The Holabird Advocate had to babysit his 1 year old niece shelby for 3 hours."It may have been 3 hours"said Hinkle, then deadpanned"but it seemed like all day".The childs grandmother, who usually handles the babysitting, went to the memorial service of former Highmore resident Marge Coleman.Shelby's mother Kristi Hinkle, went to Avon,South Dakota on business.
MISS CLEO'S A FRAUD by Jerry Hinkle
Special to The Holabird Advocate
Somehow I got on the e-mail list of tarot card reading psychic Miss Cleo.I blocked her address from my e-mail so she used another address to e-mail me.I have no fewer than 7 e-mail addresses from her .Not only does she e-mail me without permission,by if she was psychic, she'd know that i want nothing to do with her.The real telltale sign is that she doesn't call me by name, but she refers to me as "SIRON".If any of you have had a simalar happenning know this, you are not alone.

VOL. I Issue 1B
SOCIETY
Harold and Mary Hinkle had quite a good time at the golden wedding anniversary celebration for George and Mavis Kennedy at Upton,Wyoming this past weekend.Harold lived the fantasy of every married man when Mary was not able to speak for about a day and a half. She is in the pink of health right now. New Years Eve was quite festive at the Ponderosa, the Hinkle's family ranch. The usual watching the ball drop at Time Square was forsaken in favor of a "Red Green Show"marathon. At midnight "tiny wine"(actually sparkling apple cider in a small wine bottle)was used to toast in the new year in."The" place to be was the Mike and Karla Aasby home. With 7 pre-school children and a 2nd grader attending,it was a lively little gathering indeed.
E.E.Hinkle has taken to using a cane when he walks outside. When asked why he replied"Huh."
Harold Hinkle recieved word that his unborn grandson is doing fine and is expected to be delivered on the 14th of January as scheduled.the child's mother, Noel Pothast is still in pain due to gall bladder problems, but is doing fine otherwise.
Brittany Hinkle is to be the weekend guest of Bonnie and Larry Nickleson.it's not known who will tire of this arrangement first, but Brit was tickled to find out that her name and Bonnie's both start with a B.So she may last the whole weekend at that.
MUSIC REVIEW
Rory Hoffman of Lemon,South Dakota has released a compact disc of christian music titled "Blind Faith in Hymn"poking fun at the artist's love of spiritual music and his blindness. There's nothing funny about this album however as Hoffman's rare musical talent is showcased beautifully in the Music Row Production. Rory boasts being able to play 14 instruments, but plays mostly guitar on this one.All of us on The Holabird Advocate's editorial staff predict he will be a big name to watch Let's hope "Blind Faith in Hymn"is the first of many albums to come for this guy.

THE HOLABIRD ADVOCATE PUTS OUT VIRGIN EDITION
Welcome to the 1st real edition of The Holabird Advocate, for this century anyway. We are proud of our little town. All of us hope you will be proud of it too.one bit of information you might find interesting is that Holabird can boast that in the Snow Queen pagent later on this month the neighboring town of Highmore will send a Holabird girl to represent them.Kristen Grafing,17, was crowned "Miss Highmore".This is not the first time that as Holabird resident was sent in place of one of the ugly Highmore girls.Kristen's oldest sister Nicole was also sent to pitch-hit for Highmore a few years back. Too bad Kristen's the youngest.I wonder what Highmore will do next year
E.E. HINKLE CLEARS HIS OWN PATH
Local retired farmer E.E. Hinkle was seen on New Years Eve sweeping off his sidewalk. When asked by his grandson,Darrel why he was doing that the 99 years young rascal replied "'Cause there's snow to sweep off".The 32 year old grandson, being unable to stop this unofficial member of the Gray Panthers movement, got another broom and hurried up the project. It was -9 that morning.
THE PLAYS THE THING
Holabird playwright and maven of style and good taste Barbara Nemec has written a work to be performed at The Hyde County Historicalk Society's museum on a date to be announced later on this summer.she has asked our publisher Jerry Hinkle to audition for a small part. The part of a soft-spoken,gentle minister who performs a wedding ceremony. If he can pull off that fete an Oscar can not be far behind
