Holabird AdvocateProviding all the news we see fit to print since 2002!Saturday, January 05, 2013 New Years Fighting in Mitchell
As many as 14 people were reported to have been involved in a fight in downtown Mitchell about an hour or two into the new year. According to the Daily Republic, there have been 2 arrests in connection to the fight, which was reported to have occurred behind a local bar, just how far behind it seems to be a matter of contention. Our Publisher has been to this particular drinking establishment a few times, and never saw a fight. The weapon of choice at this altercation seems to have been brick, which our personal investigation showed to be readily accessible from a construction site near the bar mentioned by the paper.
New Laws in the Land
With the new year, comes new laws. Among them is a ban on selling shark fins in Illinois. It's also against the law to own more than 4 cats in in Wellington, Kansas. Maryland has made it a crime to put arsenic in chicken feed. But perhaps the most intersting law is from Kentucky. It is illegal to turn wild hogs loose into the Kentucky wilderness. Bring them to South Dakota! We have barbeque sauce here!
