Holabird AdvocateProviding all the news we see fit to print since 2002!Thursday, April 20, 2006 VOL. V Issue 4M Lead in the Deep Stuff Yesterday we reported that the Black Hills were getting 10-19 inches of snow. Boy were we ever wrong. The town of Lead, South Dakota (just down the road from Deadwood) got an almost eye popping, jaw dropping 5 feet of snow. That's 59.5 inches to be exact. All of us here at the Holabird Advocate believe it'll be a while before all of that melts. When it does, it'll be messy. Prom Photos Better Late Then Never Erin Nemec will have pictures of the April 1 Junior Prom in Highmore ready for publication shortly. Hopefully they will be less than 2 MB, as we've had trouble with that kind of thing lately. All of us here at the Holabird Advocate can't wait to see this dress that we've heard so much about. Besides, the last time we saw Erin in a dress, it was a "Judy Garland as Dorothy Gale" Gingham number. Hopefully she's waved goodbye to the Yellow Brick Road. Thumbs Up To Keloland by Jerry Hinkle Holabird Advocate Publisher Keloland did me three favors last night. First, it saved me from having to watch "TomKat" news from "Entertainment Tonight" (I gotta learn how to change that channel, I just gotta). Second, it makes me glad that I don't live in Sioux Falls so I don't have to vote for either of the Mayoral candidates. And what a choice they have. The incompetent-OOPS-incumbent Mayor, and a guy that looks like Red Green. Last of all, I got to see a side of Jodi Schwan that I've never seen before. She proved herself to be an excellent moderator. If Hemmingsen isn't careful, she could replace him has "First Monday" host. That is, providing Keloland has the good sense to bring back the show for the 2006 election season. Too bad they ran out of time. It was a great show.
