Holabird AdvocateProviding all the news we see fit to print since 2002!Wednesday, November 06, 2002 VOL. I Issue 11E THUNE AHEAD OF JOHNSON IN SENATE RACE With 99% of precincts reporting, John Thune is ahead of Incumbant Senator Johnson by about 1000 votes. Election Night coverage was as lively as possible, with computer problems here and there. Davidson County, in fact, blew a computer chip and could not count ballots until another chip could be driven in from Omaha, Nebraska. This Race is to close to call, because a possible mandatory recount takes place if the final result is within 690 votes. Nationally, the Republicans have control of the Senate. There are still three undecided elections are in Minnesota, Lousiana, and of course, South Dakota.
