Holabird AdvocateProviding all the news we see fit to print since 2002!Tuesday, November 05, 2002 VOL. I Issue 11D JANKLOW PROJECTED HOUSE WINNER OVER HERSETH by Jerry Hinkle, Special to the Holabird Advocate It appears that Stephanie Herseth will be packing grain buckets and openning gates for her dad this winter, as KELOLAND-TV has projected present Govenor Bill Janklow to be Representitive-elect Janklow. If Janklow does win, he will be sworn in on the first Monday of the new year in Washington D.C. What does this mean for South Dakota? The current exodus of the state's young people will continue, perhaps at a faster rate than before. Eventually, I, the courageous, dynamic Publisher, will be the youngest person in South Dakota. That is, of course, unless Ms. Herseth decides to stay. SENATE RACE TO CLOSE TO CALL With about 1/3 of the vote in South Dakota counted, incumbant Tim Johnson has 52%. Nationally the Senate has 14 of 34 open seats, Democrats have 9 with 11 still open. Control of the Senate still hangs in the balance. When the final decision is made you the Reader can count on the Holabird Advocate to bring those results to you. Either late tonight or early this morning.
