VOL. I Issue 7K
GEORGE KENNEDY:GENIUS AT WORK
When Harold and Mary left for their working vacation, George Kennedy was in the middle of his. Several projects were left undone and half done. One of which was Jerry Hinkle's car. For some reason the battery was wearing down. This has been going on for about 2 1/2 weeks. It took George a mere few seconds to determine that the alternator was at fault. It can not be denied that George is, in fact a mechanical genious where Jerry is a mechanical moron. George will be missed when he leaves for home.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
by Hiram Gonagan
Harold and Mary Hinkle have been just as busy as you can get on a trip like this. Harold has discovered a green thumb planting flowers at the Coolum Bible Camp, while Mary washed the dormitory walls. They have done a great deal of work, but they have fun too. They have made time for shopping and watching the surfers on the ocean. They have seen many koalas and kangaroos. Harold and Mary shared a BIG banana split at the pineapple plantation. They have fresh fruit for breakfast every morning. They as well as the other people on this mission trip will be working at the camp until Thursday. Harold will be taking Mary fishing on that day while her sisters, Phyllis and Joan do laundry. While at the bible camp they have been charged $6 to email so Mary has called the Ponderosa once to check on things there, while Joan has called her mother at least once to let her know how things are with them and check on here. It's cheaper than e-mail, and with only an 15 hour time difference separating them, it's more personal. E.E. Hinkle has said of this "If they couldn't afford all it I'd feel sorry for them".
E.E. HINKLE SHOWS OFF
Darrel Hinkle was putting Leroy Scott's German diesel together with a little help from George Kennedy. Leroy had just asked if he got over his big birhday, when out came E. E. Hinkle. walking around in temps reaching 104 degrees at one time. It's just 51 weeks until his next birthday. He'll be 101 and having fun. He just refuses to act his age. We should all do that well.
