HYDE COUNTY AUDITORIUM ROOF FALLS IN
Production of "A Good Land" is delayed once again as the roof of the Hyde County Memorial Auditorium collapsed on Monday Afternoon. It's not known just when or if the Auditorium will be ready for the play. The director, Holabirds own Barbara Nemec, has taken all of the delays in stride with a spirit that her pioneer foremothers would be proud of. Even though this is a labor of love for Mrs. Nemec the situations she has dealt with would have caused any other person to give up weeks ago.
AASBYS VACATION IN BLACK HILLS
In honor of their 5th anniversary, David and Beth Aasby along with baby Ayden went to the Black Hills of western South Dakota. Aside from the fires and the heat, plus a trip to the emergency room for dehydration, they had fun on their campout. The Aasbys have returned home healthy, happy and refreshed.
DEADWOOD FIRE CONTINUES
The last word from our Deadwood sources is that the fire has burned 6000 acres and counting. The fire is currently 10% contained. Kristi Hinkle's brother Jeremy is still not able to come back home, but has been informed that his house is still standing.
