Holabird AdvocateProviding all the news we see fit to print since 2002!Tuesday, July 30, 2002 VOL. I Issue 7L THE HOLABIRD ADVOCATE STARTS COUNTING SO YOU CAN COUNT ON US TO GROW In the seven months since restarting The Holabird Advocate, there has never been a Circulation Department. That is until now. We at The Holabird Advocate had now way of knowing how many of you wonderful readers were out there, how often you read the paper and who reads it the most. Now thanks to the folks at Bravenet.com, we can track you're reading habit's to see how to serve you better. You the reader can even see how we're doing by looking at the top left hand corner of your screen. Our goal is to have more than 38 readers by years end. As you may know, 38 is the current population of Holabird and the greater Holabird metropolitan area. We hope we can "count on you" to keep on enjoying The Holabird Advocate just as you have before. Bravenet.com was discovered by Jerry Hinkle our courageous, dynamic, Publisher when he noticed that Stephanie Herseth used that counter service on her web site and decided she knows what she's doing (besides it was also a free service). He selected his old College colors of Gold and Purple to be the counter's colors. HERSETH IN DEAD HEAT WITH JANKLOW IN U.S. HOUSE RACE It was reported on CNN's "Inside Politics" by Bob Novak that in the contest for South Dakota's lone seat in the House of Representitives, Stepanie Herseth and Governor Bill Janklow were tied within the 5% margin of error in polls taken inside the state. This could spell bad news for the Republican Govenor as he may have to work and campaign a little harder for this seat. With 98 days left until the election he has his work cut out for him as Democratic candidate Herseth has been fundraising like a winner. She even has a few moderate Republicans endorsing her. Some have speculated that only a skeleton in the closet of Ms. Herseth will prevent her from becoming the first female U.S. House delegate in South Dakota History. The Holabird Advocate and it's Publisher have endorsed Ms. Herseth in her quest for the seat in spite of the fact that Janklow made a state holiday for Mr. Hinkle's grandfather and Stephanie Herseth hasn't even sent a card or even made a collect call on the phone to the Publisher or his grandfather.
