Holabird AdvocateProviding all the news we see fit to print since 2002!Wednesday, February 06, 2002 VOL. I Issue 2C AGNES HAHN GOES NORTH Tired of having nothing to do at the Hansen house, Agnes Hahn went to spend a few days with Phyllis and Larry Ehlers at their place. She won't be idle there not if Brandon and Jesse have something to say about it.Phyllis and Larry just got back from their vacation in Cancun,Mexico.I'm sure they're well tanned. It may have been a big adjustment to come back to the snow and cold. ON THE ROAD AGAIN: THE WEIGHT WATCHERS SAGA CONTINUES Mary Hinkle has been seen walking on the road for quite some time. She gets in about 3 miles a day now.A Holabird chapter of Weight Watchers is still in the planning stages. One Question being asked is"Will those who lose weight get paper clips as a reward.".A jar full of paper clips was found in E.E. Hinkle's house that was almost thrown away. Thanks to the quick thinking of Jerry Hinkle, those paper clips were saved from the trash heap.Perhaps an arrangement could be made. KRISTI GOES TO PARENTING CLASS Kristi Hinkle mother of 3 enrolled in a 3 day parenting class. When the techniques that she learned were put into practice, however it was reported they did not work.It was suggested that The 3 Hinkle kids should be sent to a kidding class. That suggestion was not met with exitement when it was given.Maybe Kristi thought the suggester was kidding. PUBLISHER GETS TESTED FOR DIABETES Jerry Hinkle, courageous dynamic publisher of The Holabird Advocate was given a test for diabetes at the insistance of Harold Hinkle who thinks Jerry is drinking to much water. The test, administered by Darrel Hinkle was not without it's setbacks.Jerry had to be poked in the same finger 5 different times. Luckily it was all painless. When all was said and done the result was 129 which Darrel says is normal.Harold claims that it is too high.Interesting considering he had no medical training and only got up to the 3rd grade in country school.Darrel on the other hand is an old pro at taking blood sugar readings from his wife and anyone else who will sit down long enough to get poked.Mary Hinkle pointed out that the test is supposed to be taken on an emtpy stomach. All of us here at The Holabird Advocate feel that perhaps Harold should be glad that Jerry is actually drinking water instead of tequila like his brothers did when they were in high school. We also hope that Harold will give up the unrealistic expectation that Jerry get an 85 on that test. Not even E.E. Hinkle can score that low and he eats better and healthier than just about anybody.
