Last night I auditioned for "Grease" at the Pepsi Cola Theatre. I learned quite a bit about theatre, and about myself as it turns out. For sure I'm not as young as I used to be. It's very difficult to sing, dance, and look happy. It's impossible to "fake it" as well. I keep coming back to that Alexander Pope quote. You know the one, "Gracefully leave the stage before the sprightlier age comes on and throws you off. It's very nice to see so many young people wanting to be part of this wonderful show. The director of the show sure has her work cut out for her casting this show with so much talent to choose from. As for me, whether or not I get the part I read for, it will be a great show. I accidentally met someone who goes to Fusion, who does not share my assertion that Mitchell is "the big city". That by itself was worth going to the audition. Now I can concentrate on the new Star Trek movie! God be with you and do the best you can!
