Holabird AdvocateProviding all the news we see fit to print since 2002!Tuesday, March 05, 2013 Winter Storm Jake?
Sometimes live Doppler sees snow that isn't there. All of us here at the Holabird Advocate were ready for the next big snow storm since Saturday. Last night we got a light dusting of snow and a little wind. Winter storm Jake did manage to bring a few squall into Hyde County, but we've heard no snow totals as of yet. The school bus ran on time, so it wasn't that bad out there.
Help Wanted: Sentinel
It appears that South Dakota Schools are going to have the option of having an armed sentinel on school grounds. Our Publisher thought that being the HHS sentinel would be a nice job for his father, Harold Hinkle, since he likes to be around people, and knows how to use a gun properly. Harold has other ideas, however. He'd only take a job like that is he only had one bullet and could keep it in his pocket.
Our Publisher doesn't want that job either. Recent weather changes have made his fingers stiff. Also, the last time Jerry practiced his "quick draw' he shot himself in the foot!
