Holabird AdvocateProviding all the news we see fit to print since 2002!Monday, October 14, 2002 VOL. I Issue 10F TRACTOR ON FIRE NEXT TO PONDEROSA The Hyde County Fire Department was called to a fire next to the Ponderosa at around 9:30 this morning. The exact cause of the fire is not being released pending an investigation by the Hyde County Sheriff's office. Quick thinking on the part of Harold Hinkle could have saved a good part of the prarie in both Hyde County. Harold used 5 gallons of water to very carefully put the fire out. MAKE AND BAKE A SUCCESS The Methodist Make and Bake did wey well for the UMW Saturday. They sold out of kuchen and sour cream raisin pie. Several booth operators reported that despite the state of the economy they did quite well. Jerry Hinkle operated a booth for his Market America UnFranchise which only reported $9.95 in taxable sales. Perhaps if he'd stayed away from the Tastefully Simple booth, sampling the beer bread with spinich dip, he'd have done better. HINKLES ARE ALL HOME Justin Hinkle was able to go home last night after his mother Kristi called to say they were home. His youngest sister Shelby was in Pierre with her Grandma Ruby Hoffman but was returned as well. Brittany was glad to be back home from all of the adventures she had in Georgia.
