VOL. I Issue 9I
TIM ZILVERBERG HAS HAY FIRE
Sunday Afternoon saw about 20 bales of last years hay belonging to Tim Zilverberg burning in a small conflagration on his place just a few miles north of the Ponderosa. Darrel Hinkle came upon the scene with the Valley Township fire fighting wagon. Also present was Lawrence Weidenbach with the (disorganized) Illinois Township fire fighting wagon. It was a long battle but the fire was put out. the cause of the fire was spontaneous combustion, which is not uncommon with hay bales that are at least a year old.
E.E. HINKLE GOES OFF FEED SATURDAY
THEN GETS BACK ON IT ON SUNDAY
Just as Harold and Mary Hinkle left for Iowa on Saturday morning for an Austrailian group reunion. E.E. Hinkle was throwing up and refusing to eat anything. His grandson Jerry was worried about another possible dehydration. As it turned out E.E. rallied and just about made up for it the next day. He ate 2 pieces of saugage, an egg, toast, oatmeal and a glass of grape juice. he kept it all down too. For dinner he had 3 pieces of stuffed crust pizza. Folling that at 3pm he had the usual "Boost" and donut. He then had a leftover piece of the dinner pizza (which was reheated) in the evening. It was steady as she goes all day, but it did go okay.
DR. PHIL COMES TO HOLABIRD
by Jerry Hinkle
Dr. Phil McGraw of "Oprah" fame is making his TV debut in Holabird this afternoon. Many wonder if he will be able to go it alone without Oprah repeating everything he says and pretty much building him up. I say he'll be just fine. In interviews I've seen with him he does better without the ignorant Oprah Windbag-uh- Winfrey constanly kissing his posterior. Dr. Phil's competition in Holabird is a fruit flavored fellow by the name of Rob Nelson. He's got it made. Dr. Phil is Oprah's lead in. One wonders if anyone will stay to listen to her when Dr. Phil's daily dose of realism is over.
REHERSALS TO RESUME FOR "A GOOD LAND"
After delaying production for two months, rehersals for "A Good Land" will resume at 7pm Thursday, September 19 at the Hyde County Memorial Auditorium. One issue to be discussed at the rehersal is when to schedule the performance. It is expected to be performed sometime in October.
Thursday's rehersal and other Thursday rehersals could mean that Holabird Advocate Publisher Jerry Hinkle will miss the premiere episode of "Survivor" on CBS. This does not bother him however as Psychic freind Claire Voyant has already told him what the special surprise in the fist five minutes will be. It is simply that the males and females will be seperated at the start of the 5th saga. It could be she's wrong, but she has been wrong once. That was in 1998 predicting that Bernie Hunhoff would be elected Govenor of South Dakota in that year.
